What Auto Roll Filtering Does in Build a Dungeon
Build a Dungeon is a Roblox simulation and tycoon game from Exploration Guild, currently in beta, where you build your own dungeon, place monster units and traps inside it, and stop endless waves of heroes before they reach your dungeon crystal. Rolling is how you add both new dungeon pieces and new defenders, so the roll screen carries most of the collection progression in the game.
Update 6 added advanced auto-roll filtering. In the developer's own wording, it helps players manage unit acquisition and improves the management of repeated unit rolls. That is the problem the feature targets: rolling keeps returning units you already own. The game is on the Build a Dungeon official Roblox page, with update notes posted through the Exploration Guild Roblox community and the official Discord server.
How the Roll Screen Works
Rolling produces offers rather than instant unlocks: the screen shows what you would receive and what it costs, and you decide whether to take it. Recorded gameplay shows players rolling repeatedly and skipping offers they do not need, such as extra corridors once a route through the dungeon is already finished.
Recorded sessions also show a roll offering more than one unit at a time, and a 3x roll option that presents three offers at once instead of one.
Roll Milestones and Official Rates
The roll screen tracks milestones. In recorded gameplay the player reads them out as a Legendary at 80 rolls, a Mythic at 160 rolls, a Secret at 300 rolls, and a Divine unit at 2,000 rolls.
Milestone

Legendary
80 rolls
Mythic
160 rolls
Secret
300 rolls
Divine
2,000 rolls
Exploration Guild has not published a drop-rate table, the available filter settings or official pity thresholds, so treat those counts as player observations from the live game rather than an official rate sheet. Community gameplay shows these counters on the roll screen itself.
What a Repeated Roll Is Worth
Filtering only helps if you know which repeats to keep. Unit rarities run from Common and Uncommon through Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Secret and Divine, and mutated versions of a unit are a separate tier of value: mutations raise health and damage, raise the Dark Souls cost, and add extra population.
Mutation
Health and damage
Dark Souls cost
Extra population
Golden
2.4× base
4× base
+1
Frozen
3.8× base
7× base
+2
Infernal
5.6× base
12× base

Cursed

Boss units also gain 50% more health and damage when they are placed in a Boss Room, so a repeated ordinary unit and a repeated mutated unit are very different offers.
Using the Filter Without Wasting Rolls
Roll first and read the offer: the screen shows the piece or unit and its price before you commit.
Check the rarity and the mutation before spending, because a mutated unit costs several times the Dark Souls of the normal version.
Roll again when an offer does not fit your dungeon instead of buying it just to clear the screen.
Keep the two currencies separate: Coins buy buildings and defensive traps, while Dark Souls are used to obtain monster units.
Line up longer rolling sessions with the milestone you are chasing, since the counters are measured in rolls.
Tip
Coin Booster Potions and Soul Booster Potions temporarily improve what you earn, so use them while you farm the currency you plan to spend on rolls.
Warning
Do not treat community roll counts as official pity values, and do not assume that a filtered or skipped offer still advances your milestone counter. The developer has published neither.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is auto-roll filtering in Build a Dungeon?
It is an Update 6 feature that the developer describes as a way to manage unit acquisition and improve the management of repeated unit rolls. It works alongside the roll screen that hands out buildings, traps and monster units.
Where do I find the auto-roll filter settings?
The developer has not documented the exact menu, so open the in-game roll and collection screens and read the options there. Any guide quoting specific sliders, rarity cutoffs or automatic selling rules is not backed by an official source.
Does Build a Dungeon publish its roll rates?
No. Exploration Guild has not released a drop-rate table or pity thresholds. Community gameplay records a Legendary at 80 rolls, a Mythic at 160, a Secret at 300 and a Divine unit at 2,000, but those are player observations rather than official figures.
Are repeated unit rolls worth keeping?
Repeats are a normal result of rolling, and recorded gameplay shows the same unit coming back more than once. What a repeat is worth depends on the unit and its mutation, from Golden at 2.4× health and damage up to Cursed at 8×, which also costs 20× the Dark Souls of the normal version.
